[NEWS] Jennifer Answers Gwyneth Paltrow's GOOP Q&A

article by: Gwyneth Paltrow

GOOP.com
There's a good reason that Jennifer Aniston is known as being one of Hollywood's paragons of natural and ageless beauty - no small feat, considering that she's also one of its most industrious. (Next year, Mother's Day with Julia Roberts and Kate Hudson comes out in April 29, 2016, she just wrapped The Yellow Birds, with Toni Collette, Tye Sheridan, and Jack Huston, and Jennifer will start filming The Comedian opposite Robert De Niro imminently.) Known for being a long-time devotee of all the basics as I asked her some questions on how she keeps it all together.

Tips for staying sane during the holidays?
"Don't over-extend yourself too much," said Jennifer, "there is nothing worse than wearing yourself down during what is already a busy time for everyone. I know sometimes it's hard to not to over-commit to friends and family during the holidays, but I try to be mindful of it."

Do you over-indulge and then compensate in January?
"Well, for the most part, I always maintain a healthy regimen in terms of diet and exercise. It's pretty much been a part of my daily routine for years now so its second nature to me. Having said that - during the holidays I have no problem treating myself to some indulgent foods, but I usually don't go overboard with it in a way that I have to double up the fitness in January."

Anything you take, or do, religiously every day?
"I start everyday with a good, solid breakfast. I like to meditate every day for even just a few minutes - it helps clear the mind. I take a good multivitamin every day as well."

Tips for staying hydrated?
"Carry bottles of water with you everywhere you go. During the not-so-hot season in Los Angeles, California I keep a case of SmartWater and SmartWater sparkling in my car. In the summer I keep a cooler in the car to keep it cold. When you carry a bottle with you all the time you just get into the routine of drinking a lot of water."

What's particularly sacred to you?
"Spending time with my husband, my dogs, and long-time girlfriends. Those times are sacred to me and I would never give them up."

Go-to weeknight meal?
"Most nights I have protein and veggies for dinner and a chopped salad, no tomatoes for lunch!"

Favorite city hotel?
Right now, the Greenwich Hotel in New York City and The Peninsula in Chicago, Illinois."

Favorite takeout spot for busy nights?
"The Whole Foods salad bar."

Favorite passion project?
"St. Jude's always! I have been supporting St. Jude Children's Research Hospital for approximately 20-years now. The work they do for children is so inspiring and when you meet the kids your heart just breaks for their suffering. They are the most courageous little humans I know."

Best gift you've ever received?
"When my husband surprises me when I'm away working."

Best gift you've ever given?
"When I surprise my husband when he's working."

You're pretty ageless: What do you credit that to?
"I have said this before, but it's the truth - I really think hydration is so important...and sleep! I drink SmartWater all day everyday, and I like the new SmartWater sparkling water at night with meals. I take care of my skin and try not to go into the sun as much as I used to. Also we are as young as we feel, and treating yourself right is a great way to feel good. Being happy is also a key to looking and feeling younger."

Exercise routine?
"I like to mix it up with some Power Yoga, treadmill, elliptical machine, and low weight training."

How do you reboot?
"When I'm really wiped out its time to go on a trip. I have my go-to places in warm climates and sandy beaches like Mexico that really allow me to relax and get back on track. I like massages and spa treatments, too - they help if I can get on a plane and go on vacation."

Strangest indulgence?
"All sorts of weird facials: Chances are I've tried them all!"

Favorite snack?
"An apple with almond butter."

Favorite vacation hotel?
"The One and Only Palmilla in Cabo."

Favorite Chinese restaurant?
"I'm not big on Chinese food."

Top of your holiday wishlist?
"The health and safety of all my loved ones - I know it may be corny, but in these times we now live in, I wish for peace!"

[PHOTOS] Then and Now: PEOPLE magazine's Most Intriguing, Most Beautiful and Sexiest Man Alive

We're turning back the clock by a full 20-years to see who the Most Intriguing Person, Most Beautiful Person and the Sexist Man Alive were in 1995 versus who is now in 2015.

THEN - 1995
Most Intriguing Person [1995] - Jennifer Aniston
December 25, 1995 People magazine named everybody's favorite Friend, Jennifer Aniston, one of the 25 Most Intriguing People of the Year. What makes her so intriguing? Well - for starters her hair! She had one of the most enviable heads of hair in  the '90s after her hair stylist Chris McMillan chopped off her hair creating the layered look - thus the 'Rachel' was born. Secondly - she starred one of the television's hottest shows on NBC, Friends.

Most Beautiful Person [1995] - Courteney Cox
May 8, 1995 People magazine named actress Courteney Cox as one of the 50 Most Beautiful People of the Year. What makes her the most beautiful? Could it be her blue eyes, her sense of humor, or the fact that we love her as Monica Geller on Friends? As we've learned her character Monica wasn't always skinny, she use to be fat. Courteney played the heavier version of Monica proudly - proving beauty is also on the inside.

Sexiest Man Alive [1995] - Brad Pitt
January 20, 1995 People magazine named actor Brad Pitt as the Sexiest Man Alive! of the Year. What makes him so sexy? For starters - he oozes sex appeal. Back then it could've been his role as hot-headed young detective David Mills in the David Fincher film Se7en. People magazine wasn't the only ones who recognized Brad's sexiness - MTV honored him as the Most Desirable Male at the 4th Annual MTV Movie awards.

NOW - 2015
Most Intriguing Person [2015] - Amy Schumer
December 21, 2015 People magazine named comedienne/actress Amy Schumer one of the 25 Most Intriguing People of the Year. What makes her so intriguing? This years has been a busy one for Schumer who's starred in comedy film Trainwreck, doing her television series Inside Amy Schumer, and doing her stand-up routine LIVE from the Apollo theater. This has caused all eyes to be on her, which has earned Amy her first Golden Globe nomination for Best Lead Actress in a Musical or Comedy film for Trainwreck, which aside from starring in she also wrote. She'll be competing in the category against her bestie actress Jennifer Lawrence.

Most Beautiful Person [2015] - Sandra Bullock
May 4, 2015 People magazine named actress Sandra Bullock The Most Beautiful Woman of the Year. What makes her so beautiful? Could it be her sweet disposition? Her brilliant comedic timing? Or the fact that she's one of America's sweet hearts. Sandra has always been beautiful despite playing quirky, but lovable characters, and 20-years ago MTV recognized this when she received the Most Desirable Female award at the 3rd Annual MTV Movie awards.

Sexiest Man Alive [2015] - David Beckham
November 30, 2015 People magazine named professional athlete David Beckham the Sexiest Man Alive! of the Year. What makes him so sexy? Could it be his English accent, his tattoos, or his rippling muscles? One things for sure this title is long over-due, but well-deserved.

[NEWS] Fans Can Direct Jennifer in Her Latest SmartWater AD

article by: Michael Miller

PEOPLE magazine
"The fate of Jennifer's latest commercial is in your hands! Thanks to an interactive short film by SmartWater, you now have the power to direct the actress through her commercial shoot in the style of those "choose your own adventure" books. BAD NEWS: SmartWater needs a last-minute director for their new commercial starring Jennifer. GOOD NEWS: SmartWater has you! The bottled water company explains on Facebook.

In the clip, the viewer is dropped into a panicked commercial set where producers are frantically trying to replace their director, who is unfortunately unavailable. That's when Aniston suggests that you take the reigns. Your first big decision as the new director is choosing between Giselle the make-up artist and Claude the arthouse cat to take over writing duty (needless to say, PEOPLE went with Claude). Other tough decisions include dove cs. cloud dancers for the background and Mirella the opera singer vs. Ben the piano mover for music. Once that's all sorted out, you get to enjoy the fruits of your labor and watch your directorial debut."

Direct the commercial yourself. Please refer to the link.

[PHOTO] TBT: Jennifer and Actor Charlie Schlatter

Celebrating TBT (throwback Thursday), here's a picture taken in 1990 of Jennifer photographed with her 'Ferris Bueller' co-star actor Charlie Schlatter. This cute couple played brother and sister on FOX's short-lived sitcom series 'Ferris Bueller' based off of the '80s John Hughes film 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off' originally starring actor Matthew Broderick. in real-life Aniston and Schlatter started an off-screen romance. After the series was cancelled their relationship ended.

[NEWS] Real or Rumor? Does Courteney Cox Blame Jennifer for Her Break-Up with Johnny McDaid?

article by: Andrew Shuster

GOSSIP COP.com
"Courteney Cox is NOT blaming Jennifer for her called off engagement to Snow Patrol band member Johnny McDaid. RUMOR! Despite a new tabloid report, Gossip Cop.com can exclusively correct this claim. They confirm that it's "absolutely ridiculous".

According to the National Enquirer, Cox released the so-called following statement regarding her calling off her engagement:

"I am partially BLAMING Jennifer for causing me and Johnny to split up."

A so-called 'source' told the National Enquirer, Courteney and Johnny's relationship began its death spiral right after Jennifer's wedding in August. The National Enquirer alleges Aniston insisted that Cox pressure McDaid to get married as well.

Another 'insider' said:

"Johnny resented Jen's meddling...[He] even told Jennifer to quote - 'BACK-OFF' ", The National Enquirer's seemingly phony source adds; "Johnny reportedly WARNED Courteney more than once that Jen was stirring up problems, so now Courteney is kicking herself for letting Jen come between them."

The tabloids supposed 'source' further claimed that Cox would now dump Jen as a friend only IF Johnny agreed to take her back.

A representative for Courteney released the following statement:

"This is ALL very dramatic, but entirely UNTRUE!"

The rep close to Cox exclusively assured Gossip Cop the National Enquirer's tabloid allegations about Aniston playing a part in her friend's broken engagement are "absolutely ridiculous." Cox and McDaid's split had NOTHING to do with commitment issues nor Jennifer's supposedly 'meddling'.

Rather, one of major reasons for the break-up, Gossip Cop has learned, was a disagreement over living arrangements. Johnny wanted the two of them to move to the United Kingdom while Cox insisted they stay in Los Angeles, California. Gossip Cop can further confirm that the split was amicable, and the two are still on friendly terms. Courteney, however, is on even friendlier terms with Jennifer, and the National Enquirer tabloid claiming otherwise is simply UNTRUE."

[NEWS] Jen Sports a New Look and Explains 'Mean Moms'

article by: Samantha Schnurr

E! Online NEWS
"The reigning Hollywood hair queen has done it again. It was quite a surprise to catch a glimpse of Jennifer as she stepped out in Atlanta, Georgia on the set of her upcoming movie, The Yellow Birds - one of several new silver screen roles since her last appearance on the big screen in late 2014. Speaking of film roles - she was cast in the lead role for director Sean Anders latest project Mean Moms, but as we said in our earlier post the film project is on hiatus.

Jennifer released a statement of her own explaining:

"I want to take my acting career in a more SERIOUS direction. I know that I'm capable of doing drama, and don't want to limit myself as an actress. Lately I've been more careful about what roles I take."

(2002) The Good Girl
(2002) Far from Heaven
He previous dramatic credits include (2002) indie/drama film The Good Girl, which earned the actress recognition from the critics who called it - "Her breakout role from her 'Friends' image". Her role in The Good Girl got her nominations from the Independent Spirit awards as well as the Satellite awards for Best Lead Actress, which she lost both awards to actresses Julianne Moore in Far from Heaven and Jennifer Westfedlt in Kissing Jessica Stein.

(2015) Julianne at the Oscars
(2015) Jennifer at the Oscars
Jennifer's more recent role in (2014) indie/drama film Cake earned her nominations from the Golden Globes as well as the Screen Actors Guild awards for Best Lead Actress, but she lost to actress Julianne Moore once again for Moore's role in Still Alice. Critics praised Aniston's performance even going as far as calling it, "An Oscar-worthy performance for Jennifer", but when it came time for the Academy awards she was snubbed of a nomination, and Moore won the Oscar as well.

Kevin Powers novel The Yellow Birds
While there is still a lot to learn about the Jennifer's new role in the upcoming film The Yellow Birds, one this is clear - it required a MAJOR hairdo update. The Golden Globe award-winning actress was spotted rocking shorter hair, with a layered style and honey blonde tresses with freshly chopped fringe. However, before we add this new haircut to to actresses gallery of signature beauty looks - E! admits that - it's only a wig. Aniston was later photographed back in her dirty blonde locks without any sign of the bangs that originally caught photographers eyes.

[NEWS] Why 'Mean Moms' Is Cancelled

article by: Gregory Wakeman

CINEMA BLEND.com
"In news that 'Mean Girls' fans will find far from fetch, director and co-writer Sean Anders has admitted that the Jennifer Aniston led 'Mean Moms', the spin-off to the cult 2004 comedy Mean Girls, is currently on hiatus. However, despite the fact that progress on the film has stalled Sean remains hopeful that it will still come to the big screen because he really wants it to. He has already signed up to co-write Mean Moms alongside his writing partner John Morris, as well as direct it too.

director Sean Anders
He released the following statement:

"There is currently NO future in sight for Mean Moms. However, I'm fighting hard for it to enter production and be released."

Aniston has dedicated herself to other film projects such as comedy/ensemble film Mother's Day opposite Julia Roberts, Kate Hudson, and Jason Sudeikis, drama/war film The Yellow Birds opposite Toni Collette , and comedy film The Comedian opposite Oscar-winning actor Robert De Niro - all three films due out in 2016. At the time production seemed a certainty, especially since Jennifer had signed up to star, and her previous comedic exploit  in 2013 We're the Millers had just grossed $270 million.

Anders added:

"It [Mean Moms] is currently in a holding pattern now. I just had  meeting with the studio last week and I am waiting for it to be officially green light. Not much I can say at the moment, but I've done many iterations of the script and have finished my final draft and I really, really want it to happen."

actress/comedienne Tina Fey
Rather than being a direct sequel to Mean Girls, it would instead be a spin-off that was adapted from Rosalind Wiseman's Queen Bee Moms and King Pin Dads: Dealing With the Parents, Teachers, Coaches, And Counselors Who Can Make - Or Break - Your Children's Future. Roasline Wiseman's Queen Bees and Wannabees: Helping Your Daughter Survive Cliques, Gossip, Boyfriends, And Other Realities Of Adolescence acted as the main inspiration for actress/comedienne Tina Fey's Mean Girls while penning that script. The problems arrived in May of 2014, New Line Cinema pulled Mean Moms from its release date, while insisting that it was still in development. More alarming was the fact that they didn't provide a new release date. After a year of indecision, Mean Moms was once again confirmed in May of 2015, and followed with an announcement that Sean Andres would be directing the film.

(2015) Daddy's Home
Clearly over the last few months something has happened to rock this boat, because both John Morris and Sean Anders appear to be as lost as anyone regarding Mean Moms future. Let's hope that it can gain some momentum again though, because Mean Girls is rightfully regarded as one of the funniest teen comedy films since the turn of the millennium. Written by Tina Fey, with actresses Rachel McAdams and Amanda Seyfried in supporting roles, and led by Lindsay Lohan, Mean Girls is just as great 11-years after it was released. Sean has been preoccupying his time directing Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg in the comedy Daddy's Home, due in theaters Christmas Day of 2015. Fingers crossed we'll have a positive answer soon regarding Mean Moms fate."

[REVIEW} 'The Leftovers' Season 2 Review

Here's what the critics had to say about actor/screenwriter Justin Theroux's HBO drama/fantasy series 'The Leftovers' season 2 with criticism from Rotten Tomatoes, Metacritic and IMDb:

Review aggregation website Rotten Tomatoes gave the second season of the series a score of 89% based on reviews from 38 critics with an average rating of 8.6/10.0. Rotten Tomatoes critic consensus state: "'The Leftovers' continues to be unpredictable and provocative in season two with its new location, though the inexplicable circumstances will still frustrate many viewers." Positive reviews from Rotten Tomatoes critics include:  "'The Leftovers' launched its second season Sunday with a new setting, an overhauled ensemble and a fresh Departure-related mystery" - said critic Michael Ausiello of TV Guide magazine. "Before sending viewers to the new home base in Texas, "Axis Mundi" turned back the clock, Kubrick style" - said critic Jeff Labreque of Entertainment Weekly magazine. "There are a number of levels in which 'The Leftovers' is profoundly adept episode of television, but perhaps none is so unnerving as is the way in which Damien Lindelof and his team manage to make everything in the episode both welcoming and deeply discomforting." said critic Libby Hill of the Los Angles Times. Negative reviews from Rotten Tomatoes include: "The firmer grasp on the plot still doesn't make 'The Leftovers' a great show, but it makes it a great social exercise. This was a premiere I'm glad I watched, but I never, ever want to watch it again. Ever." - said critic Tim Surette of TV.com. "This show is still stuck in low gear" - said critic Hank Stuever of the Washington Post. "A creative reboot ostensibly intended to address the program's shortcomings has merely exacerbated them, leaving behind drama that is arty and provocative, but also pretentious and opaque to the point of infuriating."

"As interesting as anything on television in ages! - Margaret Lyons of the New York magazine

According to Metacritic the second season of 'The Leftovers' got a score of 80 out of 100, based on reviews from 22 critics, indicating "generally favorable reviews". Positive reviews from Metacritic critics include: "The early arc of season two is as interesting as anything on television in ages - absorbing, complicated, textured. The composition of the show feels more stable, too" - said critic Margaret Lyons of New York magazine. "Just as the first-season cast balanced prickliness and empathy, it's easy to get into the Jarden version of the story because of the Murphys, a family led by the terrific Kevin Carroll and newly minted Emmy winner actress Regina King." - said critic Dan Fienberg of The Hollywood Reporter. "The Leftovers' has matured, becoming more about how good can come from awful, how we cannot linger in pain, and not just wallow in grief and regret but identify it and moving forward," - said critic Brian Tallerico for RogerEbert.com. Negative reviews from Metacritic critics include: "It's hard to deny that 'The Leftovers' can be both visually and emotionally arresting. It's also hard to deny that it is absolutely no fun to watch, a fact that doesn't necessarily lead one to abandon it." said critic Hank Stuever of the Washington Post. "The situations don't progress in a cohesive manner, and the show feels disjointed in term of style." said critic Brian Lowry of Variety.

"One of the greatest television dramas." - Matt Zollier Seitz of Vulture

IMDb the internet movie data base gave "The Leftovers" second season 9.2 stars out of 10.0 stars rating on 29,703 votes from 183 users and 30 critics. Positive reviews from IMDb critics include: "'The Leftovers is one of the great dramas in American television," - said critic Matt Zoller Seitz of Vulture. "'The Leftovers' is a kind of revelation spinning the power and pain urging the series towards a new emotional and aesthetic extreme. It tests the limits of the art form to depict the depths of grief." - said critic Matt Brennan of the Thompson on Hollywood. " Negative reviews from IMDb critics include: "For those of you who stuck it out with 'The Leftovers' following the first bumpy but captivating season, and into the semi-rebooted season two, they were definitely rewarded." - said critic Kevin Jagernauth of the Indiewire Television. "Many have praised the second season of 'The Leftovers', but the series suffered a loss by making its major departure from from Mapleton N.Y. to Jarden TX giving off a bleak apocalyptic vibe." - said critic Matt Donnelly of The Wrap.
