[NEWS] Jennifer to Play Crisis Manager Denise White in FOX 2000's 'The Fixer'

article by: Julie Miller

VANITY FAIR.com
"A year after earning critical recognition for her powerful performance in the indie drama 'Cake', Jennifer Aniston has signed onto another project that sounds like it could be a fascinating showcase for her dramatic acting talents. Deadline reports on Thursday that Aniston will play Denise White, a real-life Miss U.S.A. contestant who has since become one of the only female sports managers in the N.F.L. Denise White seemed to confirm the news Thursday, retweeting casting reports and replying to congratulations on her personal Twitter feed.

White made headlines in 2014 as the subject of a Men's Journal profile, titled 'The Women Who Bails Out the N.F.L.'s Bad Boys." In the piece, write Paul Solotaroff chronicles White's life from her placement in foster homes - as the neglected daughter of a mentally unstable single mother - to her career essentially parenting troubled sports players whom larger agencies refuse to take on. Perhaps the most enticing quote from the magazine profile, however, comes when White herself, and references the 2009 drama 'The Blind Side', for which actress Sandra Bullock famously won her Oscar for Best Lead Actress. "You know, people made a fuss about 'The Blind Side' kid, like he was a one-of-a-kind deal," White said. "Well, 90% of my clients are 'The Blind Side' kid and need every bit of mothering they can get." Now if only Academy voters will feel the same way about Aniston's blind side tale as they did Bullock's..."

In addition to scoring lucrative sponsorship deals for her clients (including Jared Allen, Brandon Marshall and DeSean Jackson), she also works overtime to extricate them from all manner of crises including paternity claims, expensive entourage members, and drug and sexual-assault allegations. Former Falcons player Ephraim Salaam told the magazine, "She's the world's most expensive babysitter, because some dudes keep repeating childish things...And trust me when I tell you, she steps to them strong, but there's that handful of guys who don't hear it first time out. Or the third or fourth time, either." Deadline reports that FOX 2000 acquired a film pitch from Melisa Wallack, whose 'Dallas Buyers Club' script won its two stars actor's Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto dual Oscars for Best Lead and Supporting.

[PHOTO] See the 'Friends' Cast Reunite for NBC's Tribute to James Burrows

article by: Michelle Corrison

PEOPLE magazine
"As Janice always says, "Oh. My. God." Making for a rare photogenic opportunity here's the first photo of the 'Friends' cast (well 4/5 of it. Matthew Perry was in London during the filming, but will introduce the Central Perk crew when the special airs February 21, 2016) reuniting for 'NBC's Must See TV: A Tribute to James Burrows' has landed on Instagram courtesy of the stars of another sitcom: 'The Big Bang Theory'. Actress Kale Cuoco and actor Johnny Galecki both shared a photo of Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer and Matt LeBlanc - plus 'The Big Bang Theory's' actors Simon Helberg and Jim Parsons - at Sunday night's taping. Fun fact: 'The Big Bang Theory' stars made headlines in 2004 when they inked $1 million-per-episode contracts - the same lucrative deals that the 'Friends' cast banded together to fight for in 2003. Actors from 'Two and a Half Men' (unsure if that includes Charlie Sheen), 'Will & Grace', 'Cheers', 'Frasier', 'Taxi', 'Crowded' and 'Mike & Molly' were also scheduled to honor prolific television director James Burrows."

[NEWS] Inside 'The Yellow Birds' Starring Jennifer Aniston

article by: Zachary Reid

RICHMOND TIMES-DISPATCH.com
"Jennifer is starring as well as serving as a producer in her up-coming drama/war film 'The Yellow Birds'. It's based off of award-winning author Kevin Power's experience as a soldier in Iraq, and the movie is nearing the end of production set in Morroco, which is scheduled to release later this year. Actor's Alden Ehrenreich and Tye Sheridan play the lead roles of privates Brandon Bartle and Daniel Murphy. Actors Benedict Cumberbatch and Will Poulter had originally signed onto the project, but due to scheduling conflicts they dropped out before production took place. Ehrenreich and Sheridan make good replacements as two soldiers who bond in training and fight to stay alive during the war. The cast also includes its latest addition - actress Toni Collette who'll play Amy Bartle; Alden's character's mother, and actor Jason Patric who'll play Captain Anderson; Alden's and Tye's captain. Actor Jack Huston is tackling the role of Sergeant Sterling, Alden's and Tye's commanding authority figure. This marks the second feature-length movie from director Aleandre Moors. The first was 'Blue Caprice', about the Beltway sniper attacks in 2002. The book 'The Yellow Birds' was published in September 6, 2012 almost immediately optioned by the Los Angeles, California production company Story Mining & Supply Company.

Author Kevin Powers said,

"I felt like they had a good vision for my story. David Lowery, who wrote the movie's screenplay, very generously included me in the adaption. Lowery made his own story, but stuck true enough to the book that I am pleased with the screenplay. Powers admitted, "It wasn't something I would have known how to do on my own," he said of writing a screenplay adding, "I felt really comfortable with them."

Kevin Powers spent a few days on set while shooting in Morocco in the month of December of 2015. He said, "Seeing Alden Ehrenreich as Brandon Bartle was a powerful experience." Powers himself graduated from James River High School in 1998. He enlisted in the Army and served in Iraq in 2004-2005. After his discharge, he earned a bachelor's degree at Virginia Commonwealth University and a master's degree in fine arts at the University of Texas at Austin. Kevin and his wife also lived in Italy, where she studied, and New York, but returned to Richmond, Virginia a couple of years ago. Of returning to Richmond Powers said, "We felt like it was time to settle down. It was between here and Austin, Texas where we lived for three years. This feels like home." Powers's family is from Richmond, and his wife's family lives in North Carolina. His book 'The Yellow Birds' won the Hemingway Foundation/PEN award and the Guardian First Book award. Kevin also wrote 'Letter Composed During a Lull in the Fighting.' The collection of poetry was published in 2014. He's currently working on a second novel, about a murder in the Richmond, Virginia area after the Civil War. He hopes to have it published in the next year or two.

[FASHION] Best and Worst Dressed at the Critics Choice awards

article by: Sarah Lindig

HARPER'S BAZAAR.com
Not everyone was a winner on Sunday's Critic's Choice awards blue carpet. This was the first time the Broadcast Association combined the award ceremonies, and we saw some of Hollywood's brightest stars in both film and television shine on the carpet. While most of them lived up to the glamour of the event, more than a few of the talented attendees simply fell flat on the fashion front. Do you agree with the list of Best and Worst Dressed?

Best Dressed
The 'Jurassic World' film actress Bryce Dallas Howard in a black plunging v-neck dress designed by Balmain

Liv Tyler actress on HBO's drama/fantasy television series 'The Leftovers' wearing Cushnie et Ochs dark navy blue dress with a thigh-high slit

Netflix's drama 'Jessica Jones' television star actress Krysten Ritter in a sparkling sequined maroon colored Zuhair Mura Couture dress

Gorgeous in this black leg slit train Saint Laurent gown worn by model Rosie Huntington-Whitey fiance of 'Spy' actor Jason Statham

ABC's 'Nashville' television actress Hayden Panettiere showed her softer side - and some cleavage - in this flowing baby pink Maria Lucia Hohan dress

Abigail Spencer of Sundance's drama series 'Rectify' barred some skin in this pink-and-black J. Mendel dress

Adorable as ever actress/comedienne Leslie Mann in this black-and-white strapless party dress designed by Monique Lhullier she accompanied her husband director/screenwriter Judd Apatow of 'Trainwreck'

Usually better dressed, she almost didn't make 'Best', which is why Jennifer Aniston is so low on our list in this - what some arguable say is powder blue could-be off-tint lavender colored - Saint Laurent dress the actress accompanied her husband 'The Leftovers' star Justin Theroux

'Spotlight' film actress Rachel McAdams in Elle Saab Couture, which we also feel on the fence about so that's why she just makes 'Best'

Worst Dressed
'The Danish Girl' & 'Ex Manchina' film star Alicia Vakinder wearing a Mary Katrantzou designed dress of many colors

The 'Spy' star actress/comedienne Melissa McCarthy's own designer dress, which is long-sleeved and shades of green

Singer/actress Mary J. Blige of 'The Wiz LIVE!' wearing a J. Mendel designer dress that's black and sheer hanging off the shoulder-sleeved

Lovely Helen Mirren actress in 'Trumbo' wearing Dolce & Gabbana dress that you can judge for yourself - is it black with white-and-brown spots or white with black-and-brown spots

'Fargo' movie/miniseries actress Kirsten Dunst in a Chanel Couture dress that's an off-white/champagne color that doesn't work for many reasons: 1) it has no shape, she goes straight down 2) too-much, ruffles, sparkles, etc. 3) she's pale enough, this washes her out even more

Actress Rachel Bloom, Alexander McQueen jumpsuit wearing star of 'Crazy Ex-Girlfiend' television series look is a no, because the pant lets are too short, the high-heels are too high, and although black is slimming it made your entire figure disappear

If a lemon, coconut, and a lime got together they could take credit for designing this off-colored, off-the-shoulder, leftover dress worn by 'The Leftovers' actress Carrie Coon, but instead it was made by Rubin Singer

'Jane the Virgin' you'll stay actress Gina Rodriguez in this Saflyaa designed dress, which shows little shape or figure to the beautiful shapely star

'Trainwreck' star actress/comedienne Amy Schumer in Calvin Klein, which isn't pretty, or ugly - just disappointing and plain

[AWARDS] Justin Theroux Gets Snubbed at the Critics Choice awards

Jennifer's husband screenwriter/actor Justin Theroux was a nominee in the 'Best Lead Actor in a Drama Series' category for his performance as Kevin Garvey on HBO's 'The Leftovers', and he lost to fellow actor Rami Malek for his performance in USA's series 'Mr. Robot'. Justin was previously snubbed of his People's Choice award nomination for Favorite Premium Cable TV Actor, which he lost to actor Dwayne Johnson on HBO's 'Ballers'. The 6th Annual Critics Choice Television award ceremony took place in Santa Monica, California at the Barker Hangar and was hosted by actor/comedian T.J. Miller. Justin was accompanied by his wife Jennifer on the red carpet and she also sat with him at his table. Justin also served as a co-presenter with his 'The Leftovers' co-star actress Liv Tyler. The pair presented the Critics Choice award for Best Sci-Fi/Horror Movie of the Year awarded to 'Ex Manchina' accepted by actress Alicia Vikander. [NEWS] 'Friends' The One Without Chandler

article by: Lily Karlin

HUFFINGTON POST.com
"Not so fast with the 'Friends' reunion celebration, everyone. Though rumors circulated last week that all six of the original sitcom stars Couteney Cox, Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer would reunite for an upcoming television special dedicated to the series former director James Burrows, it turns out that's NOT quite the case. During a guest appearance on 'The Graham Norton Show' January 15, 2016, Matthew Perry who played funny man Chandler Bing, explained, "I won't be there."

(2016) Matthew Perry on 'The Graham Norton Show'

He went on to say, "I will be in London working on the play 'The End of Longing' during the television special," he said adding, "it's not the reunion everyone is hoping for. The other five (Courteney, Jennifer, Lisa, Matt, and David) are going to be on this special, and I am going to introduce them from London." In short: Not yet, everyone. Not YET! Elsewhere in the episode, Perry admitted, "I'm not even quite sure what Chandler's job on 'Friends' was." Like the rest of us - and Chandler's friends on the show - he knew it had something to do with 'computers'. According to 'Friends' sources they say that Chandler's job from season 1-9, which Perry's character mentions in season 8 episode "The One with the Cooking Class' that he was as a procurement manager at IT with the specialization in Statistical Analysis and Data Reconfiguration."

[NEWS] 'Friends' Cast Reunion Happening on NBC

article by Chris Harnick

E! NEWS.com
"The 'Friends' will be there for you once again this February. The NBC network confirmed the entire cast including - Courteney Cox, Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer - will take part in a new special honoring legendary sitcom director James Burrows in Sunday, February 21. However, they may not reunite all at once. "Hoping that all six of them will be in the same room at the same time, but I'm not sure we can logistically pull that off," said NBC's Robert Greenblatt who told reporters at the 2016 TCA Winter Press Tour when asked if all six 'Friends' actors would be together for the special.

(2002) Jennifer with Matthew, Courteney, David and Matt at NBC's 75th Anniversary Special
Burrows has directed episodes of (1982-1993) 'Cheers' starring Ted Danson, Shelley Long, Nicholas Colasanto, Rhea Perlman, George Wendt, John Ratzenberger, Woody Harrelson, Kelsey Grammer, Kirstie Alley and Bebe Neuwirth, (1998-2006) 'Will & Grace' starring Eric McCormick, Debra Messing, Sean Hayes and Megan Mullay, (1994-2004) 'Friends', (2010-present) 'Mike and Molly' starring Billy Gardell and Melissa McCarthy, (1978-1983) 'Taxi' starring Judd Hirsch, Jeff Conaway, Danny DeVito, Marilu Henner, Tony Danza, Andy Kaufman, Randall Carver, Christopher Lloyd and Carole Kane, (1993-2004) 'Frasier' starring Kelsey Grammer, David Hyde Piece, John Mahoney, Peri Gilpin and Jane Leeves, (1995-1999) 'NewsRadio' starring Dave Foley, Stephen Root, Andy Dick, Joe Rogan, Maura Tierney, Vicki Lewis, Khandi Alexander, Phil Hartman and Jon Lovitz, and many MORE! of our favorite comedies.

(1995) Jennifer with David, Matthew and Matt at NBC's Annual Winter Press Tour All-Star Reception
The cast of many of those shows are also expected to participate in the special. Burrows recently  helmed his 1,000th episode of television. He previously reunited with actress Lisa Kudrow, playing himself, on her HBO comedy 'The Comeback'. Aniston was also on hand to help to celebrate Burrows in 2013. 'Friends' fans better soak this up as its going to be the only reunion we might get. Previous reunions took place on Ellen: The Ellen DeGeneres Show; which only included Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, and Matthew Perry, and later on Jimmy Kimmel LIVE!; which only included Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox and Lisa Kudrow. The stars and the show's co-creator Marta Kaufman have been adamant about NOT reuniting for a scripted special. Kaufman told E! News in 2015, "The fans have to let it GO!. I'll NEVER happen - NOT happening!" However, the cast is NO stranger to reuniting at parties, for dinners and special occasions...like Aniston's wedding to her husband screenwriter/actor Justin Theroux. However, only Cox and Kudrow made the cut the guys were left out, but sent their good wishes to Jennifer and her new hubby."
