Review aggregation website Rotten Tomatoes gave the film a score 22% of based on reviews from 129 critics with an average rating of 4.4/10.0. Rotten Tomatoes critic consensus states: "Zoolander No. 2 has more celebrity cameos than laughs - and its meager handful of memorable gags outnumbers the few worthwhile ideas discernible in its scattershot rehash of a script." Positive reviews from Rotten Tomatoes include: " 'Zoolander' captured its moment, and so does 'Zoolander 2'. It skewers the preening emptiness of contemporary culture with the help of people who are part of it." - said critic Mick LaSalle of the San Francisco Chronicle. Negative reviews from IMDb critics include: "Is 'Zoolander 2' one 'Zoolander' too many? The answer, unfortunately, is yes more than no." - said critic Kenneth Turan of the Los Angeles Times.
