[NEWS] Jennifer Garner Compares Her Split from Ben Affleck to Jennifer Aniston's Divorce from Brad Pitt

article by: Francesca Bacardi

E! ONLINE.com
"Apparently if your first name is 'JENNIFER' the first thing you do after splitting from one of Hollywood's hottest actors is doing a tell-all interview with Vanity Fair magazine pouring your heart out on your sleeve. At least, that's what actresses Jennifer Aniston and now Jennifer Garner have both done.

Each were rising television stars married to equally successful film actors. Jennifer Aniston starred on NBC's sitcom 'Friends' while married to Brad Pitt, and Jennifer Garner starred on ABC's drama series 'Alias' while married to Ben Affleck. Each are America's sweethearts who've won Golden Globes for their television roles with equally attractive spouses who've been deemed People magazine's Sexiest Men Alive.

(2002) Ben Affleck - Sexiest Man Alive!

Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck have taken quite a few trips together since announcing their separation in 2015, so it's no wonder fans are anxiously awaiting their announcement that the split is off. Unfortunately, that probably won't be coming. 'The Miracles From Heaven' actress opens up about her marriage's demise in the pages of Vanity Fair's March 2016 issue - much like Jennifer Aniston did in the September 2005 issue of Vanity Fair.

Garner reveals:
"I'm just like everyone else in the that I read the celebrity news; I'm aware that people are waiting for me and Ben to get back together. When Jen Aniston and Brad Pitt broke-up I was dying to see something that said they were getting back together."

Weren't we all, Jennifer Garner. Weren't we all. But onwards he [Brad Pitt] moved with actress Angelina Jolie and she [Jennifer Aniston] with screenwriter/actor Justin Theroux. Despite their very amicable split. Jennifer Garner admits, "It's still hard, especially when it comes time to enjoy something I normally would have with Ben by my side. Given the circumstances, I've learned to adjust by returning to my roots. When the earth shakes you go to what you know from childhood. All of a sudden I'm sitting down at the piano. I went back to church. I sat down and wrote bad poetry all day because I was so sad. I needed a dance class; it reminded me of my fight scenes in 'Alias' and how I missed that." She continues, "I feel the need to be physical and I feel the need to punch someone. You know what I look forward to? I look forward to getting past the pity stage. I look forward to just having a sense of humor."

And a sense of humor she has, although Jennifer Garner might not realize it yet. The 'Alias' alum opens up about the idea of dating and jokes that she's a 'dinosaur' for wanting to be courted the old-fashioned way. "We were waiting for the bathroom at JetBlue," Garner explains, "and I was so floored. I had to remind myself that [getting asked out] was something that could happen. He said, 'Could I take you for a cup of coffee?' And I was like, 'No! You may not take me for a cup of coffee, sir.' And the I said, 'But thanks for asking.' "

"I guess. I don't know. It's just that [from] everyone that I know that's dating is just seems, well...Men don't call anymore...I want flowers; I don't want to text. What does that make me? What kind of dinosaur and I?" Even though Jennifer Garner might not be thinking about other men just yet, she admitted that two divorces [Garner had previously divorced actor Scott Foley] weighs heavily on her considering how much she believes in the idea of matrimony. "I'm a pretty hard worker. It's one of the pains in my life that something I believe in so strongly I've completely failed at twice," she says. "You have to have two people to dance a marriage." Despite it all, Jennifer Garner looks forward to the future. "I definitely put a lot of time towards my marriage that I will now have for myself," she says. "I don't know how I will use that."

[NEWS] Jennifer Returns to the Big Screen in 'Mother's Day'

Welcome back to the big-screen Mrs. Aniston! 'Mother's Day' marks the actresses return to the silver screen after taking some time to do work in independent films including Daniel Barnz's drama 'Cake' and Peter Bogdanovich's screwball comedy 'She's Funny That Way'.

(2015) 'Cake'
In 'Cake' Aniston played a woman suffering from drug addiction and alcoholism, now in chronic pain after a tragic accident left her physically and emotionally scared, obsessed with another woman's suicide from her chronic pain support group, and overall a shrewish, but likable woman. The role earned Jennifer praise from critics who called her performance, "Oscar-worthy." She received two 'Best Lead Actress' nominations from the Golden Globe awards as well as the Screen Actors Guild awards.

(2015) 'She's Funny That Way'
In 'She's Funny That Way' Aniston played a no-nonsense therapist whose taken over her alcoholic mother's clients. Jane isn't really equipped to be a therapist nor nice for that matter she treats people poorly, but the manor in which Aniston portrays her generated laughs. Her performance was internationally recognized by the Jupiter awards earning her a 'Best International Actress' nomination.

(2014) 'Horrible Bosses 2'
Jennifer's last blockbuster film was in 2014 reprising her beloved role as sex-crazed dentist Dr. Julia Harris in her first ever sequel film 'Horrible Bosses 2'. It grossed a whopping $107,670,357 world-wide compared to the first one it didn't even serve as a box office contender virtually making the sequel a box-office bomb generating mixed-to-favorable reviews with audiences and critics alike. In fact her performance received an Alliance of Women's Film Journalists award nomination for Actress Most in Need of a New Agent. "Ouch!" Let's hope 'Mother's Day' isn't as painful.

In her latest project 'Mother's Day', directed by Gary Marshall, who's no stranger to ensemble films including previous holiday flicks such as (2010) 'Valentine's Day', and (2011) 'New Year's Eve'. In the film Jennifer plays Sandy, a single mother of two young boys, whose ex-husband Henry; played by actor Timothy Olyphant, has just remarried a much young woman Tina; played by actress Shay Mitchell, who wants nothing more than to be the perfect step-mother to Sandy and Henry's two sons. Aniston will star opposite Oscar-winning actress Julia Roberts who plays Miranda - a successful television host and author - doesn't have any children of her own to spend the holiday with, as she's chosen career over a family. However, she learns she has a biological daughter whom she gave up for adoption years ago. Hudson's character Jesse rarely sees her mother, but is forced to spend some quality family time when her parents unexpectedly show up at her home after a 20-hour road trip. Sudeikis' character Bradley, struggles through the awkwardness of being a single father to a 16-year old daughter, as she suffers through typical teenage angst, arguing with her dad and constant at odds with him. The flick is scheduled to be released in April 29, 2016.

article by: James Hibberd

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY magazine
"They're almost all there. The cast of 'Friends' - minus actor/comedian Matthew Perry who's rehearsing a play in London - gathered for NBC's James Burrow's tribute, and Entertainment Weekly has the first official photo from the reunion. Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer and Matt LeBlanc huddle close with the veteran director, who recently directed his 1,000th episode of television. Jennifer has commented presently and in past interviews, " 'Friends' gave me everything - every opportunity that I have now - I thank 'Friends' for."

Burrows told Entertainment Weekly:
"We've had a long history together, and for them to show up in support in honor of me was so great."

James Burrows is recognized as television's most accomplished sitcom director. He made his television-sitcom directing debut with a 1974 episode of 'The Mary Tyler Moore Show'. He is probably best known for his work on 'Taxi', 'Cheers'; which he also co-created, 'Frasier' and 'Will & Grace', which collectively earned him 10-Emmy awards and four Directors Guild awards. He directed the pilots for all four series, as well as for other long-running comedies 'The Big Bang Theory', 'Two and a Half Men' and 'Mike & Molly'.
