[REVIEW] 'Mother's Day' Review

Here's what critics had to say about Jennifer's ensemble comedy/holiday film 'Mother's Day' with criticism from Rotten Tomatoes, Metacritic and IMDb:

Review aggregation website Rotten Tomatoes gave the film a score of 8% based on reviews from 61 critics with an average rating of 2.7/10.0. Rotten Tomatoes critic consensus states: "Arguably well-intended yet thoroughly misguided, 'Mother's Day' is the cinematic equivalent of a last-minute gift that only underscores its embarrassing lack of effort." Positive reviews from Rotten Tomatoes include: "Marshall uses the same formula of blending together multiple story lines for his light comedy 'Mother's Day', but this time has better defined the plot and embraced the emotion. It's not perfect, but it's a sweet Mother's Day gift." - said critic Rick Bentley of Fresno Bee. "No human being is quite human. No adult is quite adult. No situation completely makes sense. But the overall aura is kind of...welcoming. It's impossible to take seriously, but easy to take." - said critic Mick LaSalle of the San Francisco Chronicle. "Sure, you'll forget about it in a week after you've seen it, but it's mostly pleasant and occasionally touching, even though it's a lot closer to an episode of 'The Love Boat' than 'Love Actually' ". - said critic Randy Cordova of Arizona Republic. Negative reviews from Rotten Tomatoes include: "Director Gary Marshall is a menace. He keeps killing holidays with all-star comedies in which a laugh would die of loneliness. Note to Marshall: Keep your mitts off Father's Day." - said critic Peter Travers of Rolling Stone magazine. "The large, talented cast has little to do but with the flow of the overly sweetened, sentimental twists and turns, but the sap eventually sucks all of them under." - said critic Neil Pond of Parade magazine. "If you love your mother, don't make her see this movie." - said critic Samantha Highfill of Entertainment Weekly magazine.

"Mother's Day is a sweet gift" - Rick Bentley, Fresno Bee
According to Metacritic the film got a score of 17 out of 100, based on reviews from 24 critics, indicating "generally negative reviews". Positive reviews from Metacritic include: "Perhaps because the bar was set so low, 'Mother's Day' turns out to be surprisingly watchable." - said critic Randy Cordova of Arizona Repulic. " 'Mother's Day' is a concocted market-driven holiday, and so is this M&M's-obsessed movie - candy for the sweet-toothed among us." - said critic Brad Wheeler of The Globe an Mail. Negative reviews from Metacritic include: " 'Mother's Day' is bad from the start, and it doesn't get better." - said critic Jon Frosch of The Hollywood Reporter magazine. " 'Mother's Day' may boast a star-studded cast, but it's a spectacular dud on every other level with tonal whiplash, a little casual racism played for jokes and a script seemingly pulled from Hallmark cards rejected of being too hokey." - said critic Brian Truitt of USA Today. " "Despite and army of appealing actors in its large ensemble cast, the rom-com 'Mother's Day' is startlingly unappealing. Clumsily edited and culturally tone deaf, it's more obsessed with the titular holiday than even most mothers would find reasonable." - said critic Jen Chaney of the Washington Post.

"Mother's Day is surprisingly watchable" - Randy Cordova, Arizona Republic
IMDb the internet movie data base gave 'Mother's Day' 5.2 stars out of 10.0 stars rating based on 372 votes from 2 users and 29 critics. Positive IMDb critic reviews include: "Having already laid waste to 'New Year's Eve' and 'Valentine's Day', Marshall shows no hesitation in unintentionally belittling another holiday, and one with much more meaning than others." - said critic Ben Kenber of Examiner.com " Negative IMDb critic reviews include: "Mom might say, 'It's the thought that counts, dear,' but take her to this holiday omnibus, and you'll run the risk of having her think you're as lazy as the movie." - said critic Marjorie Baumgarten of the Austin Chronicle. "Marshall seems perfectly content with delivering a new movie that's just as trite, mawkish, painfully unfunny and manipulative as 'Valentine's Day' and 'New Year's Eve' ". - said critic Perri Nemiroff of Collider. " 'Mother's Day' is another movie that's too innocuous to inspire actual rage yet too utterly tepid and bland to elicit a single laugh." - said critic Alonso Duralde of The Wrap.

[NEWS] Jennifer Aniston Opens Up About Her Beauty Icons

article by: Allie Jones

NEW YORK magazine
"The actress was recently named 'World's Most Beautiful Woman' of the Year 2016, which commenced when People magazine gave Jennifer the title last week. The magazine has published several articles about Jen, her opinions, and her diet since then, and today we got the following: "Jennifer Aniston Opens Up About Her Beauty Icons." Who are her beauty icons? Believe it or not, journalist Gloria Steinem was the first person she named.

"I've always thought Gloria is quite stunning for many, many reasons besides her exterior," Jen told People.

"She's taught me about feminism. There was a time when I was like, 'I'm not quite sure I understand what this is?' And Gloria was like, 'It's very simple: it's just about equality. That's all it is.' "

Hm, well. That is beautiful.

Gloria isn't Aniston's only beauty icon, however. She said she also admires model Lauren Hutton, actress Brigitte Bardot, and "those kind of babes."

[FASHION] Jennifer Wears Anthony Vaccarello, Louboutin, Jimmy Choo and Eva Fehren to 'Mother's Day' premiere

article by: Katherine Cusumano

W magazine
"The 47-year old actress is known for her fairly classic taste, and here, she takes the menswear-inspired trend and makes it her own! Jennifer looked fabulous (thanks to her glam squad - including her hairstylist Chris McMillan, and make-up artist Angela Levin) Wednesday April 13, in Hollywood, California at the TCL Chinese Theater IMAX for the Open Road Film world premiere of 'Mother's Day'. She wore a black wool tuxedo jumpsuit by Anthony Vaccarello, (showing some leg) which becomes an illusion romper, its asymmetrical hem and leather detailing adding a bit of intrigue to an otherwise staid look. Pairing the look with Christian Louboutin black-ankle-strapped heels, and accessorized with Eva Fehren dangle rose-gold/diamond earrings and a Jimmy Choo black-metallic mesh clutch purse. All-in-all - her movie might be called 'Mother's Day', but this design is anything BUT maternal."

Anthony Vaccarello jumpsuit - $2,789.00
Christian Louboitin heels - $995.00
Eva Fehren earrings - $2,860.00
Jimmy Choo clutch - $950.00
Total cost of look: $7,594.00

[NEWS] Gossip Cop Busts National Enquirer's False Claim, 'Jennifer & Justin's $170-million Divorce'

article by: Shari Weiss

GOSSIP COP.com
"Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux are NOT in a the middle of a $170-million divorce, despite a new tabloid cover story reported by J.R. Taylor for the National Enquirer. The cover story falsely claims that their marriage has been "destroyed" by a "cheating scandal". Inside the latest issue it headlines Jen Explodes In Fury Over Justin's Secret Hookups!. A sub-headline further reads, "$170-million divorce erupts as she catches him contacting his former lover. What supposedly going on?"

Jennifer apparently "in tears" over Justin's alleged "cheating"
According to the supermarket tabloid: Aniston "caught" Theroux "making secret phone calls to his former girlfriend of 14-years costume designer Heidi Bivens, and now the couples 8-month marriage could explode into a $170-million mess!" An alleged tearful confrontation ensued between Jennifer and Justin, while he has supposedly denied any "hanky panky" as well as "swore up and down he had been completely faithful to Jen," said a source. It's also said that, "Jennifer has had her doubts."

A source says:

"For months, Jen has been suspicious. She feels destroyed by him [Justin], and this is the ultimate betrayal."

Justin's ex-girlfriend costume designer Heidi Bivens
The supposed 'bombshell' exclusive reveals how Justin found time for his dalliances as well as how his sleuthing superstar wife pieced together the clues! The snitch goes on explaining that Jen and Justin's situation is going from bad to worse even going as far as describing it as "nuclear".

The source adds:

"Jen feels like she threw her ALL into her marriage, and now she's been blindsided by Justin's callous behavior."

The outlet notes a divorce would be a monumental embarrassment for Jen - not to mention a financial nightmare. Despite the sensational cover and headlines, the National Enquirer's story NEVER actually says the two ARE in fact "breaking-up". In fact, the piece concludes by speculating what could happen "if they split." That's right, "IF".

Jennifer & Justin on date night in Beverly Hills, CA at The Palm restaurant
A representative for the couple confirmed:

"There is NO $170-million divorce, and Aniston and Theroux are actually as happy as ever, stepping out for a date night last Friday. The "cheating" and "divorce" allegations are UNTRUE."

The only thing "destroyed" here is the National Enquirer's cover story." Jennifer and her husband recently enjoyed date night at The Palm restaurant in Beverly Hills, California where the lovebirds stayed inside for about three hours before showing off their fashionable looks in front of cameras.

Jennifer at the world premiere of 'Mother's Day'
Reliable sources including reporter Mark Vulpo for E! News confirmed:

"She [Jennifer] was REALLY happy that night. She was laughing a lot during the dinner and really enjoyed herself."

Whatever the case may be, this couple is looking pretty darn good everywhere they go. We can only assume the two spent time together for date night because Theroux knew in advance he wouldn't be able to accompany his wife to the world premiere of her up-coming comedy film 'Mother's Day', which Aniston attended solo on Wednesday. However, despite being solo Jennifer was all smiles gladly posing for the paparazzi.

What makes the National Enquirer's claim even MORE false is this cover story has already been reported twice before by OK! magazine in 2013 and by In Touch Weekly magazine in 2014.
