[AWARDS] 'The Leftovers' Got Snubbed of Emmy Nominations

The 69th Annual Primetime Emmy award nominees were recently announced by 'Veep' actress Anna Chlumsky and former 'Criminal Minds' actor Shemar Moore. Despite the HBO (Home Box Office) network making of 37% of the nominations with a total of 41; including shows such as comedy series 'Veep' with 10-nominations, limited series' 'Big Little Lies'  and 'The Night Of' both receiving a total of 8-nominations, drama series 'Westworld' with 7-nominations, comedy series 'Silicon Valley' with 4-nominations, and drama film 'The Wizard of Lies' with 3-nominations, it seems there was no room left on the ballots for drama/fantasy series 'The Leftovers'.

'The Leftovers' 2014-2017
This years Drama category alone must have been a difficult choice for the Television Academy to make with such contenders as actor Justin Theroux and his role as Kevin Garvey on 'The Leftovers' being looked over.

Justin Theroux as Kevin Garvey on 'The Leftovers'
Theroux lost his spot respectively to actors Sterling K. Brown & Milo Ventimiglia on NBC's 'This Is Us', Anthony Hopkins on HBO's 'Westworld', Bob Odenkirk on AMC's 'Better Call Saul', Matthew Rhys on FX's 'The Americans', Liev Schreiber on Showtime's 'Ray Donovan', and 4-time Emmy nominee Kevin Spacey on Netflix's 'House of Cards' - so Theroux's Emmy snub is understandable given the fierce competition.

Carrie Coon as Nora Durst on 'The Leftovers'

Ann Dowd as Patti Levins on 'The Leftovers'
However, his co-stars actresses Carrie Coon and Ann Dowd, did receive Emmy nominations respectively, but not for their roles as Nora Durst and Patti Levins on 'The Leftovers'.

Carrie Coon - Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie, 'Fargo'

Ann Dowd - Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series, 'The Handmaid's Tale'
Coon received her Emmy nominations for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie for her role as Gloria Burgle on FX's 'Fargo', and Dowd received her Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her role as Aunt Lydia on Hulu's 'The Handmaid's Tale'.

Maybe the Television Academy with make-up for 'The Leftovers' being snubbed by letting Justin be a presenter - sort of like when his wife Jennifer was snubbed during the 2015-Oscars for her role in indie/drama film 'Cake', and they let her co-present.
