The Yellow Birds
Variety and The Hollywood Reporter magazine have both confirmed that Saban Films has acquired North American rights to director Alexandre Moors' independent Iraq drama/war film 'The Yellow Birds', starring actors Alden Ehrenreich, Tye Sheridan, Jack Huston, Jason Patric & actresses Jennifer Aniston and Toni Collette.

President of Saban Films, Bill Bromiley
Saban Films is planning a Spring release of 2018, and President of Saban Films Bill Bromiley has commented, "Alexandre's style is so unique, he has created a visual chef-d'oeuvere with 'The Yellow Birds'. The performances are emotional and revelatory to those directly impacted by the tolls of war. We're honored to bring the film to wider audiences." Ness Saban, the Vice President of Business Development, along with Bromiley negotiated the deal on behalf of Saban Film with film producer Scott Karol of Cinelou Films, and Deborah McIntosh at WME.

The film premiered at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival and won the Special Jury award for Best Cinematography awarded to cinematographer Daniel Landin. It was produced by Courtney Solomon and Mark Canton for Cinelou Films (who previous worked with Jennifer on 2015 drama 'Cake'), and producers Jeff Sharp for Story Mining & Supply Co. Written by screenwriters David Lowery and R.F.I. Porto, and based on the novel by author/veteran Kevin Powers, 'The Yellow Birds' follows two young soldiers (played by Ehrenreich and Sheridan), who face the terrors of the Iraq War under the command of a trouble sergeant (played by Huston), and whose mothers (played by Aniston and Collette) await their return home.
