[NEWS] Jennifer Made It to the Oscars...BUT Not as a Nominee

Jennifer at the 30th Annual Santa Barbara International Film Festival
The 46-year old actresses new year is off to a great start...she's currently celebrated her 46th birthday with close friends including former Friends co-star actress Courteney Cox, and film actress Emily Blunt, as well as with others, Jennifer's attended several award shows as a nominee for Best Lead Actress of the Year (in the drama category might we add) that have recognized her talents as an actress for her current role in Daniel Barnz's drama film Cake, has an upcoming film She's Funny That Way in theaters May 1, 2015, and was (gasp) snubbed at the Oscars!? So much for what the critic's said regarding her performance...."Aniston gives an Oscar worthy performance" apparently neither critic's nor the academy agree with what they said because she was also snubbed at the Critic's Choice awards as well earlier this year. However, she will still be attending the 87th annual Academy awards this Sunday, February 22 as a presenter. Had Jennifer been a nominee she would've been competing against the following fellow actresses: Two Days, One Night's Marion Cotillard as Sandra Bya, The Theory of Everything's Felicity Jones as Jane Wilde-Hawking, Gone Girl's Rosamund Pike as Amy Elliot-Dunne, Wild's Reese Witherspoon as Cheryl Strayed, and the woman who has seem to win it all this year actress Still Alice's Julianne Moore as Dr. Alice Howland. Moore has beat out Aniston for the Critic's Choice award, Golden Globe award, and the Screen Actors Guild award. It's alright though because Jennifer has already won a Golden Globe for television, but she does want to be recognized for her work in film. "I don't just want to be known as Rachel from Friends," said the actress in an earlier interview. Jen's reaction to her Oscar snub was, "I'm getting more attention for being the number one snub, than I probably every would had I actually won the award," she said while recently on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. One thing we're sure of is that she has plenty to be happy about including her fiance screenwriter/actor Justin Theroux whom she's been engaged to for three years.

Don't forget to watch the 87th Annual Academy awards LIVE! February 22, 2015 on ABC (check your local listings). Performers include singer Lady Gaga, pop rock band Maroon 5, country music singer Tim McGraw and many more!
