[PHOTOS] Friends Celebrates Its 12 Anniversary: The One with "The Last One"

Happy 12th Anniversary Friends! 12-years ago today NBC aired one of the most viewed sitcom season finales in history.

(2004) Cast of Friends: Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Courteney Cox-Arquette, David Schwimmer, Matthew Perry, Jennifer Aniston
Split into two parts a total of 52.4 million viewers tuned in to see the two-part season finale conclude the group of six-20 something years olds: Rachel Green, Monica Geller-Bing, Phoebe Hannigan-Buffay, Joey Tribbiani, Chandler Bing, and Ross Geller played by Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox-Arquette, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer say, "Goodbye" to each other as they shared their last cup of coffee at the Central Perk coffee shop in New York city. They conquered their personal lives and professional lives when it came to love and relationships, and work, as well as learning that it is good that they didn't have to go through it alone - we'll always have - Friends. These six friends as well as the sitcom are still a household name in the 2010's defying the decade from it's run on NBC from 1994-2004.

It's clear that Friends was one of the best comedies of it's time finally being honored at the Primetime Emmy awards in 2002, which the cast earned the Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series of the Year.

(2004) Jennifer Aniston as Rachel Green
Jennifer Aniston played Rachel Green, who went from being a spoiled-daddies-girl to becoming a fashion enthusiast over the course of the sitcom. When her character made it's final appearance in the shows season finale "The Last One (Part 1 & 2)" she established being in a relationship with Ross Geller, with whom she had a baby, Emma Geller-Green. Rachel also proved she could hold down a job by becoming an Executive at Polo Ralph Lauren. She applies for a fashion job in Paris, but makes a last minute decision of not wanting to go. She ultimately decides that she doesn't want to go to Paris, but would rather be with Ross in New York.

(2004) Courteney Cox-Arquette as Monica Geller-Bing
Courteney Cox-Arquette played Monica Geller-Bing, who went from thinking she only attracted men with severe emotional problems to ending up marrying one of her best friends - Chandler Bing. When her character made it's final appearance in the shows season finale "The Last One Part (1 & 2)" she established being the head chef at Javu's restaurant. After she married Chandler the pair desperately wanted children, but found they were infertile so resolved to adoption a son; Jack Geller-Bing, and daughter Erica Geller-Bing. They reveal to their friends that they plan on selling their apartment, that Monica originally got from her grandmother, and want to raise their children in Westchester, New York rather than in the heart of the city.

(2004) Lisa Kudrow as Phoebe Hannigan-Buffay
Lisa Kudrow played Phoebe Hannigan-Buffay, who went from thinking the only family she had was her twin sister Ursala to discovering she had a half-brother Frank Buffay, and learned the truth about her parents - her birth mother she didn't kill herself, but is in fact alive and well; and as for her birth father she learned that he abandoned her and her twin sister to give them their best chance because he didn't feel he was a fit parent. Phoebe worked as freelance massage therapist as well as a amateur singer/songwriter who finds happiness with Mike Hannigan. When her character made it's final appearance in the shows season finale "The Last One (Part 1 & 2)" she is shown as being happily married to Mike Hannigan discovering he's everything she's been looking for in a man as well as in a family.

(2004) Matt LeBlanc as Joey Tribbiani
Matt LeBlanc played Joey Tribbiani, who was mostly a struggling actor best known for his part as Dr. Drake Ramoray on the soap opera Days of Our Lives, but after his character is killed off by falling down an elevator shaft Joey worked odd jobs throughout his characters career including: a Christmas elf, cologne sampler, Christmas tree salesman, Museum tour guide, and a waiter at Alessandro's restaurant, and Central Perk. When his character made it's final appearance in the shows season finale "The Last One (Part 1 & 2)" he engages in a brief relationship with Rachel, but the pair break it off after they have trouble progressing beyond the kissing stage both coming to realization that their better off staying friends. Joey is against the idea of Monica and Chandler moving to Westchester, but warms up to the idea after he buys them housewarming gifts: a chick and a duck, who are named Chick, Jr. and Duck, Jr.

(2004) Matthew Perry as Chandler Bing
Matthew Perry played Chandler Bing, who worked as a Junior Advertising Copywriter in Tulsa, Okalahoma toward the end of the series. He went from thinking the only response to "I love you" was "Oh, crap!" to being married to who he calls, "the hottest chick he's ever known in real-life" Monica Geller-Bing. After he marrying Monica the pair desperately want children, but found they were infertile so resolved to adoption a son; Jack Geller-Bing, and daughter Erica Geller-Bing. When his character made it's final appearance in the shows finale "The Last One (Part 1 & 2)" Chandler and Monica reveal to their friends that they plan on selling their apartment, that Monica originally got from her grandmother, and want to raise their children in Westchester, New York rather than in the heart of the city. Joey is against the idea so he tags along with Chandler and Monica to see the house, but learns that it's the perfect home for them. Chandler says the last line as well as tells his last joke of the show when replying, "Where?" after Monica asks if the gang would like to grab a cup of coffee.

(2004) David Schwimmer as Ross Geller
David Schwimmer played Ross Geller, who worked as a paleontologist, but was later a college professor at the University of New York. When his character made it's final appearance in the shows finale "The Last One (Part 1 & 2)" he is shown with the help of Phoebe desperately attempting to catch Rachel before her flight takes off, but ends up at the wrong airport. After receiving a voice mail on his answering machine from Rachel he wonders if she got off of the plane. She appears in the arch way of his apartment door exclaiming, "I got off of the plane". Rachel and Ross finally establish being a couple, who have a daughter Emma Geller-Green.
