[NEWS] Is Jennifer's "Career In Crisis" After "Mother's Day" Bombs in Box Office?

article by: Shari Weiss

GOSSIP COP.com
"Real or Rumor is Jennifer Aniston's movie career in crisis after her latest flick 'Mother's Day' bombed at the box office? (Opening weekend 'Mother's Day' only racked in $2-million) RUMOR! Despite a report by RadarOnline who claimed the following:

(2015) 'Cake'
(2015) Jennifer - Best Lead Actress in a Drama

"Jennifer Aniston was a the peak of her career in indie/drama film 'Cake' earning her performance a Golden Globe nomination, but the actresses career has taken a nosedive, as her latest film has NOT been well received by critic.!"

(2016) 'Mother's Day'
The site points to the low ratings 'Mother's Day' has received on Rotten Tomatoes, and quotes some of the poor reviews that have been published. But how is Aniston's career in "crisis"? Does the failure of one ensemble film mean Jennifer won't get cast in future movies? No. Are the star's other projects now put on hold? Nope. Is her legacy ruined? Of course not.

There is NO "nosedive" because one movie, which was filed with other A-listers, isn't succeeding. If that was the case, surely the careers of 'Mother's Day' co-stars Julia Roberts, Kate Hudson and Jason Sudeikis would be in "crisis", too. But RadarOnline doesn't have a story about any of them.

Julia Roberts
Kate Hudson
The web bloid just wanted to make Aniston look bad, but provided no context for how this particular movie fits into her overarching filmography. And there's NO actual evidence given whatsoever to prove Jennifer's career is in "crisis". The outlet ends its piece by asking readers if they think the actresses career "can be revived". But it's RadarOnline that could use redemption."

We've seen actors make some pretty stink films before, and in a previous interview Jennifer has said:

"Looking back over my career I admit I do bow my head in shame at some the films I've made."

But that hasn't stopped her from acting. Even Aniston's 'Mother's Day' co-star Julia Roberts has stated in interviews:

"The point is, nobody walks onto a set and says, 'Yeah, let's really make some crap.' ", said Roberts adding, "I will say this...I made this movie 'Dying Young' and what we shot was far more complicated - it turned into more of a love triangle between me and actors Campbell Scott and Vincent D'Onofrio's characters - and in the final cut, it was a little cleaner and my character didn't make as many desperate choices."

In conclusion - "Not every actor can be proud of every film they've made," said Aniston,  "because, hey - we take what we can get for work and sometimes you're not always offered the best parts, but we have to put food on the table and pay the bills too."
