[NEWS] Jennifer Is No Longer a Haircare Mongul

Jennifer for Living Proof with hairstylist Chris McMillian

PEOPLE magazine
"Jennifer Aniston may be many things to many people, but as of now, she is no longer a hair product executive. Cosmetics giant Unilever has bought Living Proof, the hair care line in which she's had a stake since 2012, and she will no longer be associated with the brand. WWD reported the sale Friday a representative for the brand told PeopleStyle, noting: "Though terms of the exact sale aren't available, Jennifer will no longer maintain her share in or affiliation with the Massachusetts-based company due to Unilever's 100% stake in the brand. We aren't able to comment further on the deal."

Unilever has been adding to its 'prestige' portfolio in 2017, acquiring luxury beauty brands including Kate Somerville and Murad, but this will be its first 'prestige' hair care purchase (Unilever currently owns brands including Suave, Dove and Tresemme). Aniston not only was a part owner of the brand, but she also served as its best spokes model for years (thanks in large part to her very famous hair). She also served as de facto researche, telling PeopleStyle: "I test hair products on my friends like they're Barbie dolls!," admitting, "my current more low-maintenance look (thanks to the brand) is much more my speed than 'The Rachel' look, I made famous". No word on what brand is ready to step in to be there for her now that she's no longer a Living Proof loyalist."
