[NEWS] Apple's Big Announcement Involved Jennifer & Her New Series

Apple had a big announcement to make on Monday March 25, 2019, and Jennifer Aniston along with actor/comedian Steve Carell, and actress Reese Witherspoon were apart of it as well. The company finally lifted the curtains on its much-anticipated new TV series, which involved revealing the first footage from the series. Aniston, Carell and Witherspoon all made a special appearance at the event to introduce "The Morning Show" as a series that would examine the people and politics of the morning news world. "Through the prism of those under-slept, over-adrenalized people in front of and behind the camera, we take an honest look at the complex relationships between women and men in the workplace, and we engage in the conversation people are a little too afraid to have unless they're behind closed doors," Aniston said.

"But of course," she pointed out, "you can't have an honest look at complex relationships between men and women with just women." Cue Steve Carell, who bumbled onto stage promising to bring "the manliness" to the show, teasing that his character is "bold and dynamic, with a lot of gravitas. He's [my character] a great listener and relatable and extremely handsome," Carell said. " 'The Morning Show' is seen through the eyes of two ambitious aspirational female characters," Witherspoon said, as Carell interjected, "and a prominent male." Witherspoon added that the show is a "high-velocity thrill ride in which we pose questions without easy answers and shine a light on the fault lines in our society at this very complicated cultural moment." Apple did not reveal a 'Morning Show' trailer, but footage from the show was featured in a teaser for Apple TV+, featuring scenes with a a brunette-wig donning Witherspoon and Aniston on her on-air anchor role. Mimi Leder, who is directing the up-coming series, which is loosely based on the book Top of the Morning, by CNN correspondent Brian Stelter (who is a consultant for the show), and penned by Kerry Ehrin, with whom Apple has an overall content deal. Ehrin along with Witherspoon and Aniston are all executive producers of the series.
