article by: Matt Donnelly

"Actor James Franco plays the Emmy award winning role of Rachel Green;originally played by actress Jennifer Aniston, in a AOL comedy sketch of Friends. The sketch revolves around the gang: Monica, Phoebe, Rachel, Ross, Chandler, and Joey hanging out at Central Perk. The series popular theme song "I'll Be There For You" by The Rembrandts plays in the intro as the parody begins.

We open to Phoebe; originally played by Lisa Kudrow, singing "Smelly Cat" with her other friends joining in singing. Just then Ross; originally played by actor David Schwimmer, walks in informing his friends, "Listen, we have to be serious, okay? This is an intervention." James Franco, who's playing dual roles as both Rachel and food-lover/struggling actor Joey Tribianni; originally played by actor Matt Leblanc, assures Ross that they're all here for him. Rachel continues adding that they have to do it. They know it's going to be hard, but we all gotta do this and be strong for him okay? Phoebe and Chandler agree, and Rachel encourages Ross to get him. Ross exits off screen and the camera pans to James Franco as Joey, and an actress as Monica; originally played by Courteney Cox, showing their reactions.

Ross re-enters the shot and has returned with Marcell the monkey. Rachel greets Marcel with a friendly "Hi", as does the rest of the gang. Captions appear on screen for the monkey stating, "What is this sh*t? Is this a f*cking intervention?" The comedy sketch concludes with an actress dressed as Chandler Bing; originally played by Matthew Perry, replying sarcastically that it's just a really boring party. Seriously buddy, it's intervention time." The running gag on the NBC original series was that Chandler was 'gay' or feminine-like which frequently served as the butt of most jokes."
