[NEWS] US Weekly Claims "Brad Pitt & Jennifer Reconnect"

Film actor Brad Pitt reportedly has connected with his first ex-wife actress Jennifer Aniston after reaching out amid his split from his second wife actress/director Angelina Jolie.

It has been over a decade since they called it quits on their marriage, but looks like that now is water under the bridge. Pitt tracked down a number for Aniston to wish her a "Happy 48th Birthday!", US Weekly magazine reports.

A source told the magazine:
"Jen's ex-husband has been texting after tracking down her phone number."

The pair - who got divorced in 2005 - have not been in each others lives since Brad found love on set with his now estranged ex-wife Jolie as they filmed the action/romance film 'Mr. & Mrs. Smith'.

In fact Aniston even stated during an interview in 2015 regarding contact with her ex Pitt stating: "I don't find it [talking about her divorce from Brad] painful though." When asked if they still talk Aniston replied: "We uh - you know we exchange good wishes, and all that sort of stuff to each other, but it's not a constant thing."

The source said:
"Brad told her he's having a hard time with his split [from Jolie] and they [Brad & Jennifer] exchanged a few texts reminiscing about the past."

Another source close to Pitt confirmed to DailyMail.com that the pair have been texting, but says "They have been doing so for some time." The insider added," Contact between the pair is NO big deal to either party. Brad did NOT seek out Jennifer's number. They have a relationship and are in touch."

So where does Aniston's husband screenwriter/ actor Justin Theroux stand on all this? Sources say the friendly exes are not worrying about Justin.

Theroux says:
"I'm fine with Brad and Jen having a relationship. I'm okay with them being friends [as I know] Jen just wanted to be nice."
