[NEWS] Jennifer Aniston is One Mean Mom in New Line Cinema's 'Mean Moms'

"The project 'Mean Moms' a spin-off of actress Lindsay Lohan's (2004) film 'Mean Girls' has snagged 'Horrible Bosses 2' director Sean Anders who is set to direct the New Line's Jennifer Aniston comedy 'Mean Moms'. It's been in development since 2010 with Adam Shankman, Jennifer Gibgot and Jill Messick producing for New Line Cinema. Anders and writing partners John Morris have been writing the script for 'Mean Moms', which will focus on a happily married mother of two who moves from small-town America to the high-class suburbs and faces the cutthroat world of competitive parenting. New Line set the film for a May 8, 2015, release but delayed in the film in 2011 along with opting to forgo a $6.7 million production tax credit from the state of California.

Instead, New Line announced at that point that it had come on board to co-finance MGM's (Metro-Goldwyn Meyer's) then-untitled actress Reese Witherspoon-Sofia Vergara comedy, 'Hot Pursuit', and selected the same release date. 'Mean Moms' had been selected for the production tax credit, based on 20% of qualified expenditures of $33.6 million. Originally television director Beth McCarthy-Miller was attached to helm 'Mean Moms' at that point. Anders directed Aniston in 'Horrible Bosses 2', which grossed $269 million worldwide. He also directed the upcoming Will Ferrell-Mark Wahlberg comedy 'Daddy's Home' for Paramount. Anders writing credits include (2013) 'We're the Millers' and (2010) 'Hot Tub Time Machine'. He's repped by UTA and Mosaic."

Plot: A happily married mother of two moves from small-town America to the high class suburbs and is faced with confronting the cutthroat world of competitive parenting.
