Plot: 3 years after a global event, known a the "Sudden Departure", in which 2% of the world's population disappeared - unexplainable to say the least 140 million people vanished. Focusing primarily on the Garvey family: father Kevin Garvey; Chief of Police, his wife Laurie; a member of a cult known as 'The Guilty Remnants', son Tommy; whose left home for college, and their daughter Jill; who is rebellious, as well as their acquaintances in the fictional town of Mapleton, New York.
