[NEWS] Ellen: Jen Finds the Silver Lining After Her Oscar Snub

Jennifer on The Ellen DeGeneres Show promoting 'Cake'.
There is no doubt about it: Jennifer was definitely snubbed of an Oscar nomination for her performance in Cake. November of last year she attended the Governors awards - the place where actors, directors and so on go as hopeful Oscar nominees. The Academy nominee voting took place December 29 of 2014, and January 8 of 2015. "I am both flattered and humble at the Oscar buzz," said the actress in an earlier red carpet interview, "in fact it's a piece of cake." A week later in the month of January the nominees were announced and after all of the Oscar buzz from critic's Aniston was snubbed. If you ask Jennifer herself, she's a little more than a little surprised at all of the support she's received after Thursday's announcements took place. "Yeah, I'm the No. 1 snub," she joked on Monday's Ellen DeGeneres Show. "That's the silver lining, right?" She continued, "it hasn't even come out. That's the crazy thing. We're so shocked and amazed that we have had this much love for a movie that hasn't even been released yet." For those of you who are curious moviegoers, the film does in fact hit theaters nationwide this coming Friday. Cake was previous released in limited theaters back in 2014 during the last week of the month of December. So far Jennifer's earned a Golden Globe and Critic's Choice award nominations, but been beat out by fellow actress Julianne Moore for her role as Dr. Alice Howland in drama film Still Alice. She is also nominated for a Screen Actors Guild award for Outstanding Lead Actress of the Year in a Drama film. "The thing that's been so incredible for me is the amount of people that have come out to me who are suffering with chronic pain and in the same situation themselves," explained Jennifer to Ellen. "It's unbelievable how much positivity it's bringing to those who are kind of silently suffering. It's a beautiful, hopeful movie."
