"After three seasons '
The Leftovers' has officially departed the airwaves, but the character-driven sci-fi/drama still has one last chance to make a name for itself at the Primetime Emmy awards. While the series hasn't yet earned any Emmy nominations, fans are hoping that the tear-jerking final season will change all of that. The HBO (Home Box Office) network has offered its two lead stars for Emmy considerations including a Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series nominee actor Justin Theroux for his performance as Kevin Garvey, and Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series nominee actress Carrie Coon for her performance as Nora Durst. Six supporting actors and actresses have also been entered on the 2017 Emmy ballot for Outstanding Supporting Actor/Actress in a Drama Series including actor Kevin Carroll for his performance as John Murphy, actor Chris Eccleston for his performance as Matt Jamison, actor Scott Glenn for his performance as Kevin Garvey, Sr., actress Amy Brenneman for her performance as Laurie Garvey, actress Lindsay Duncan for her performance as Grace Playford, and actress Liv Tyler for her performance as Meg Abbott. Each actor and actress got a memorable standout scene or character-centric episode for this final season, so it'll be interesting to see who (if any) of the show's featured stars earn recognition from the Emmy voters."
