[NEWS] The One Where Justin Could've Been Ross

It's hard to imagine Jennifer's character Rachel Green, falling in love with anyone other than David Schwimmer's character Ross Geller, because the two seem so perfectly in love and meant for each other, but in a recent interview screenwriter/actor Justin Theroux, revealed to Mr. Porter magazine that he could've have crossed paths with his wife of 2-years, actress Jennifer Aniston, nearly 20-years ago - had he not opted to hit the snooze button on his alarm clock. That's right folks - Justin could've have been opposite Jennifer on her popular '90s sitcom 'Friends' had he not slept in they could've have been together then instead of falling for each other years later. One of those, "better late than never" scenarios.

Theroux explains, "I didn't bother to audition for the series. I slept in that day," he admits now, "I'm actually glad that I missed the audition because I wouldn't have been prepared for the fame achieved by the stars of the show." 'Friends' help launch the careers of the virtually then-no-named actors Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer, but with the level of success following the series -  it catopulted them into the stratosphere of fame, especially Aniston.

Theroux continues, "I understand how fame can drive people insane, but it doesn't overtly impact me or Jen. I think it [fame] drives people insane, and you can tell who those people are in the world. You have to be the guardian of your own senses. If a tree falls in the forest and you're not there to see it, you know; but for the most part, it's [fame] not as pervasive in our lives as people think." He continues adding, "While occasionally you'll get whacked by something, it's something those in the limelight have to analyze and come to terms with, which Jen has done very elegantly and pretty effortlessly."

He joked of the way he's been portrayed in the tabloids, "There's this slightly insane person running around on the covers of tabloids who is mentally ill, clearly," as for his spot at the table in Hollywood, "if nothing else," he concludes, "I have a front-row seat to the insanity, to what makes this town so bananas." As for his wife she says they are all too familiar with what the tabloids have to say about them stating, "Justin and I know our truth," Aniston said in reference to the gossip and rumors tabloids spread about them, "the rest is just noise."
